5 tried and tested methods to instantly calm your mind
The hustle and bustle of everyday life makes it difficult for us to calm our mind, because it is constantly running, without control. No matter how hard you try to take a break from the overwhelming thoughts, it just won’t stay calm, hence; it is rightly called a ‘monkey mind’. It inexhaustibly keeps on jumping from one thought to the other and gets you nowhere!
So, let us have a look at some of the easiest techniques to silence our mind. The first and foremost thing to do when you feel you are overwhelmed with thoughts which are not under control, then…
- Focus upon your breath
Yes, this is by far one of the best techniques that will instantly silence your mind. Just take a deep breath and let it out. Now, breathe normally and just focus all your attention towards breathing. Just, watch how you inhale and how you exhale. See, what happens to your body while you inhale and what happens when you exhale. When you complete at least 10 to 15 cycles of breathing, you will see that the mind is becoming calmer and calmer. You do not have to put any efforts while doing this process. Just, sit and focus on your breathing. It is an effortless process and most effective when you want to silence your mind instantly. You can do this process with eyes closed or open, as you feel like, but I would request you to close your eyes for an even better experience. I do not recommend closing eyes for people who have extremely violent or disturbing thoughts, as this might prove adverse for them.

Listening to instrumental music of your favourite musical instrument has miraculous effects upon your mind. It helps you feel good and relaxes you completely. Benefits of music have been known since centuries. Why do we love music so much? It is because we connect with it and it helps us feel good.
